Evie Hilliar (also known as Yeevz) is an artist based on Gadigal land who has built a global following since first sharing her comics online in 2018. Her work blends vulnerability and levity to highlight how sadness and silliness coexist, finding humour in the everyday absurdities of existing in a world that rarely makes sense. Through comics, she communicates unconsidered perspectives that help her and her audience find common ground.

Her creative credits include co-writing and producing the Screen Australia-funded comedic mini-series Deadbeat Ends Meet. Alongside her commercial and independent work, Evie teaches animation at the University of Technology Sydney, and co-produces Read To Me, a beloved bi-monthly live comic storytelling event in Sydney.

Through her comics platform, she has also run fundraisers for grassroots humanitarian charities for trans justice and Palestinian aid, and illustrated for the 2026 exhibition UNSAID by Rhiannon Jansma, detailing Jansma’s journey with breast cancer.
