Representation and diversity are at the core of my work. I’m always striving to create illustrations that make people feel seen and included. It’s a mission of mine to show authentic representation every chance I get. In 2024, I had the honour of illustrating the campaign for Love Your Bookshop Day with BookPeople and was featured in an NITV/SBS article for my work in bringing authentic representation to children’s books. That was a pretty special moment for me.
For me, being on Country means feeling grounded and at ease. It’s like I can breathe easier, knowing that both Country and my ancestors are guiding me along my journey. While I’m Gamilaroi, I grew up on Wonnarua Country, where I still live today. My Pop passed when I was really young, and with him, a lot of knowledge was lost. It’s been a long and personal journey of reconnecting and learning, and that connection is always present in my work.
My hope is for my illustrations to make people feel warm, happy, and connected, like they’ve stepped into a world full of heart and wonder.
